Career Readiness Classes

Dassa McKinney Elementary School will continue to provide Career Readiness/Social Emotional Learning (SEL) classes within the fourth through sixth grades. Pennsylvania was the first state to require that all students graduate with a personalized career plan and portfolio, clearly defined K–12 career education benchmarks. We will be working with SMART Futures, which is a Pittsburgh-based company, in order to formulate these career portfolios. SMART Futures provides educators/counselors with a K–12 career planning and portfolio platform that helps schools easily implement the CEW standards within any classroom.
